Position Summary: Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Superintendent will direct activities of workers concerned with construction associated with water supply, and transmission, and water or wastewater treatment facilities while maintaining high quality of work. This position will direct workers in the construction of new facilities, or in modifications or expansions.

Essential Job functions:

•Safety

o Coordinate and monitor craft compliance with all safety requirements (OSHA, state, local, client, and the Company). Document and ensure corrective measures are implemented

o Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and ensure that specifications are met

o Immediately address any safety issue observed or brought to your attention by anyone

o Read, review, study, and implement the company's Safety Manual

o Ensure that Safety Meetings are held on a weekly basis and participate in Safety meetings monthly

•Project Execution

o Plan and supervise craft foremen and craft activities including methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment and rental needs, power sources, work schedules and documenting actual hours worked

o Study specifications to plan procedures for construction on the basis of start/completion times, staffing requirements for each phase of construction, and knowledge of available tools, equipment, and various building methods

o Continuously review and work progress to the project schedule and adjust work activities accordingly

o Participate in all Preconstruction Subcontractor meetingso Initiate, organize, and schedule all parties for participation in regular storyboard sessions

o Assemble field members, including crew and clerical help, if needed, and field supervision to perform different disciplines (in conjunction with General Superintendent)

o Confer with and direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays

o Order procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times correlating with work schedules

o Schedule work to ensure it complies with contract, drawings, and specifications

o Maintain an effective inventory control procedure for all materials and tools

o Maintain liaison between general superintendent, engineering, and estimating

o Maintain communication with other departments (i.e. safety, materials control, purchasing, QA/QC, and engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspection, etc., to support craft activities and project scheduleo Maintain "As-Built Drawings" at all times

o Interpret and understand all subcontracts and scope of work to be performed

o Actively communicate with supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods

o Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

•Personnel

o Assign work to crews and coordinate with each to not interfere with other work activities, including owner representatives and inspectors

o May direct workers concerned with major maintenance projects for existing structures

o Show understanding of, and commitment to, EEO and affirmative action policies in all phases of employment

o Initiate formal and informal feedback conversations

o Initiate conversations regarding the worker's future plans or goals within the company

o Promote training initiatives

o Handle employee concerns and complaints, conflicts, and performance concerns

•Quality and Production

o Ensure all foremen are planning and goal setting by completing and submitting the "Daily Planning Sheets" for the following day

o Immediately address any quality or production issues

o Resolve construction problems (i.e. design, lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as needed in assigned task

o Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship meets specifications and adheres to construction schedules

o Maintain a high level of professional ethics and demand the same of all employee.

•Paperwork

o Prepare and/or receive, from subordinates, reports on materials used and their costs, progress, and adjustments on work schedules as indicated by reports

o Complete Daily Superintendent Reports, review and sign all foremen time sheets, new hire application packages, maintain equipment logs, labor reports, and receiving reports

o Understand budgeting process and maintain labor and equipment costs within budget

o Maintain all project documentation and schedules for assigned task

Position Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years combined experience required in Civil Construction including supervision, technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures

• Leadership and communication skills are essential

• Knowledge of:

o Civil and Structural engineering principles

o Construction inspection methods

o Design development and construction methods

o Public utility relocation and coordination

o State and Federal environmental procedures

o Ability to work in all types of weather

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide, inspect, and demonstrate the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure such PPE meets the ANSI standards.
• Operate air monitoring equipment and determine accurate results for field operations.

• Position requires at least 75% travel by car or air.
• Majority of work hours will be spent on project sites in a heavy construction environment.

Position Qualifications Requirements/Preferences

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the safety field.
• Must have Heavy Industry/Construction experience.
• Must have Strong Knowledge of OSHA Construction (especially excavation/trenching standards 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P) and ability to apply them on site, General Industry Standards.
• Formal Education or Equivalent Experience, Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Construction Management, or related field is often preferred; however, significant on-the-job experience is also valued. Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Certified Safety Manager (CSM).
• Must have knowledge of MSHA, EPA, and any other applicable Government Agencies.
• Trainer in OSHA 10-and 30-hour, Trainer First Aid/CPR/AED preferred.
• Requires ability to lift at least 50lbs. on a regular basis.
• Communication Abilities, Skilled in delivering toolbox talks, crew training, and safety briefings. Communicate effectively with individuals at all levels within the company.
• Coordination with Project Leadership & Subcontractors, ensuring safety expectations are understood, followed, and integrated across all trades and subcontractors on site.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft and other Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

The Preconstruction Manager will be responsible for Leading alternative delivery projects pursuits (CMAR, CMGC, DB), construction estimating, cost management, design management, proposal writing, and budgeting in the heavy utilities sector.

Primary Responsibilities

• Proposal Coordination: Lead all responses to Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) and Requests for Proposal (RFP), including strategy meetings, content development, layout design, and production of proposal materials.
• Strategic Development: Provide strategy, storyboarding, and message development for pursuits and presentations.
• Estimating - Develop 30% - 60% - 90% GMP
• Presentation Preparation: Prepare interview presentation materials and collaborate with operations staff to strategize, rehearse, and present to external clients.
• Assist Marketing Team with Material Creation: Develop marketing materials such as informational documents, qualification packages, advertisements, displays, and brochures.
• Process Understanding: Maintain a thorough understanding of RFQ and RFP processes for public and private civil construction projects, with knowledge of private and federal procurement requirements and regulations considered a plus.

SUMMARY

The Project Coordinator is an integral and valuable member of the Project Management Team. The PC administers many of the purchasing, documentation, and accounting tasks for projects from the beginning of the project (bidding/estimating process) through closeout.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Project Coordinator position include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Set up new projects: create binders/files, office trailers, temporary utilities, office supplies, equipment, furniture, toilets, trash, water, etc.

• Organizing and managing the flow of hardcopy and digital information to and from members of the project team

• Create project Contact list

• Create project map and procure sign if required

• Manage submittal process and maintain submittal log

• Prepare meeting materials and/or minutes as needed

• Collecting JHA’s/JSA’s and submitting to client as required

• Maintain master vendor list

• Communicate ideas for improving workflow processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others

• Assemble and transmit subcontracts and purchase orders with input from PM/PE

• Track and request insurance certificate renewals and bonds as required

• Process prime contract and subcontract change orders

• Collect packing slips and validate vendor invoice accuracy

• Assign invoices to vendor PO/Subcontract (invoice coding)

• Work with PM and project accountant to process and complete timely project billings

• Monitor A/R log and follow-up on payment status as required

• Prepare and verify accuracy of lien waivers

• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors on the collection of required lien waivers

• Assembling T&M billings from supporting cost and field reports

• Assist with project close-out, collecting warranty information, operation and maintenance manuals
